IBM Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody - Model Manager 7.0.3

Product Release / Trial | October 31, 2023

Getting started with Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody - Model Manager 7.0.3

About the download: The Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) all-in-one installer includes the option to deploy the following:

  • Jazz Team Server (JTS)
  • Engineering Requirements Management (DOORS Next) also known as Requirements Management (RM)
  • Rhapsody Model Manager (RMM, a set of plugins for EWM) also known as Architecture Management (AM)
  • Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) also known as Change and Configuration Management (CCM)
  • Engineering Test Management (ETM) also known as Quality Management (QM)
  • Jazz Reporting Service (JRS)
  • Engineering Insights (ENI)

Trial license keys for IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management products unlock access to capabilities provided by the applications. While you can perform most tasks with a web browser, the all-in-one installer also includes options to install client tools that support advanced tasks and optimized workflows for specific roles or jobs, or tools that provide additional functions such as integrations with other systems.

Use IBM Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody to create and edit the models hosted by Rhapsody Model Manager.

You can install IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing Document Builder (PUB DB) from the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) installation launchpad.

1
Plan and prepare

For supported platforms and memory requirements, see the system requirements.

For known issues with this release, see the release notes.

2
Install the server and applications

To perform a web installation of the server, download the web installer for your platform (see the previous section), extract the .zip file, and start the launchpad (launchpad.bat or launchpad.sh, depending on your platform). We recommend installing IBM Db2 or Oracle as your database. The server includes Apache Derby, a file-based database, for test installations of a subset of ELM applications up to 10 users and not using configuration management in DOORS Next or Quality Management.

If you need to install the server in an environment without internet access, visit the All Downloads page, download a repository for the server and trial licenses, and install by using IBM Installation Manager.

Note: During the installation process, you have the option to install different applications. You do not have to install all of them; you can install only a subset of the applications. These options are for advanced installation scenarios, such as distributing the applications across multiple servers or deploying multiple applications of the same type within an application group.

For information about installing and managing client access licenses, see Managing client access licenses .

3
Set up the server

After the installation, complete the steps in the Jazz Team Server setup wizard, which is available at https://fully_qualified_host_name:9443/jts/setup (where fully_qualified_host_name is the domain for your server).

Additional guidance: For help with the setup wizard, see Running the setup wizard in the product documentation.

2
Install the clients

Rhapsody Model Manager provides a server-based interaction using a web browser. Models are created and edited in the Rhapsody client and loaded into a Rhapsody Model Manager project area using the Engineering Workflow Mangement Eclipse client. Download the IBM Engineering Workflow Management Client from the All Downloads tab.

Additional guidance: For help with installing and setting up Rhapsody Model Manager, see Installing Rhapsody Model Manager in the IBM Documentation.
